The role of international OBOR programs in the country's tourism potential and education system

Abstract

This research examines the impact of international One Belt One Road (OBOR) programs on the tourism potential and education systems of participating countries, utilizing statistical data from 2022, 2023, and projections for 2024. In 2022, countries involved in OBOR initiatives reported an average increase of 15% in international tourist arrivals compared to pre-OBOR levels, with a notable rise in infrastructure investments leading to enhanced accessibility and attractiveness of tourist destinations. By 2023, educational exchanges facilitated by OBOR partnerships expanded by approximately 20%, fostering cross-cultural understanding and academic collaboration among over 50 nations. Projections for 2024 indicate that these trends will continue, with anticipated growth in tourism revenue reaching $300 billion across OBOR countries, alongside a further increase in scholarship programs aimed at boosting local educational capacities. This study underscores the dual role of OBOR as a catalyst for economic growth through tourism and as a facilitator of educational advancements, ultimately contributing to sustainable development goals.
